Orgasm and Meditation

The Huffington Post just published an article ” Why Meditation And Orgasm Feel The Same To The Brain” which confirms from  the world of science details about the connection or similarity between sexual orgasm and meditation.  The article refers to Osho as someone who has spoken about this connection in his many talks and books.  “In the ordinary sexual orgasm you meet as two excited beings – tense, full of excitement, trying to unburden yourselves. The ordinary sexual orgasm looks like madness; the tantric orgasm is a deep, relaxing meditation.” Osho has always described sexual experience as a stepping stone to spiritual growth. “In deep meditation, a sexual orgasm happens – not with someone outside you, but with your own polar opposite within. You meet there: your woman and your man meet. The meeting is spiritual, not bodily”

The first book which made Osho famous not only in India but around the world was “From Sex to Superconsciousness”  – a new version is available as SEX MATTERS – From Sex  to Superconsciousness,  St. Martin’s Press.

OSHO: My Teaching is Not for Pleasure

For many people ‘enlightenment’ is a concept which is very much mixed up with religious concepts of superiority of certain people. Osho addresses some of these misunderstandings and shares his unique insights.

Available for RENTAL currently USA only – other countries will follow

Excerpt form an interview with Osho by Italian magazine ‘The Pleasures’.

The question asked is: Could enlightenment be the definition of the topmost pleasure?

“It is not pleasure. Pleasure is always something opposed to pain; it is never separate from pain. So pain can become pleasure, that’s why there are masochists in the world who torture themselves and enjoy. Your so-called saints are nothing but people who know the art of changing pain into pleasure.”

Times of Crisis are of Tremendous Significance

Osho Life Essentials - St. Martin's Press - also as eBooks Kindle, Kobo, Nook, Sony

When we created the concept for this new book series “OSHO Life Essentials”, we had no idea that a worldwide economic crisis would shake many countries around the globe soon. When the economic bubble of “ever more and better” busted, the international drama which unfolded also had a balance, allowing a larger number of people to have a look at essential issues in their life. Suddenly the thousands of questions Osho responded to are more ‘essential’, contemporary and timeless than ever. This series is becoming an international top selling line of Osho books already licensed into multiple languages.

The first 4 books in our 10 title series are now in print and the titles for two more are just finalized for 2012. Each book deals with a selection of questions and Osho’s full responses on one important subject area. Each book is released with a DVD of an OSHO Talk, allowing a direct experience of seeing and listening to Osho .

Osho encourages all of us to enquire, to ask questions because they can trigger a transformation process: “How do you ask a question which can be meaningful not simply intellectually but existentially? Not just for verbal knowledge, but for authentic living? There are a few things which have to be remembered: Whatever you ask, never ask a ready-made question, never ask a stereotyped question. Ask something that is immediately concerned with you, something that is meaningful to you, that carries some transforming message for you. Ask that question upon which your life depends.

Don’t ask bookish questions, don’t ask borrowed questions. And don’t carry any question over from the past because that will be your memory, not you. If you ask a borrowed question, you can never come to an authentic answer. Even if an answer is given, it will not be caught by you and you will not be caught by it. A borrowed question is meaningless. Ask something that you want to ask. When I say “you,” I mean the you that you are this very moment, that is here and now, that is immediate. When you ask something that is immediate, that is here and now, it becomes existential. It is not concerned with memory but with your being.

Don’t ask anything that once answered will not change you in any way. For example, someone can ask whether there is a God: “Does God exist?” Ask such a question only if the answer will change you – so that if there is a God then you will be one type of person, and if there is no God you will be a different person. But if it will not cause any change in you to know whether God is or is not, then the question is meaningless. It is just curiosity, not inquiry. So remember, ask whatever you are really concerned about. Only then will the answer be meaningful for you.”

“One thing I can say, that whatever I am saying is going to become the future philosophy, the future religio of the whole humanity; and you are blessed to be co-creators in it.” – Osho

OSHO: Bravo America – Glimpses of a Cosmopolitan World

Osho, a contemporary mystic has spoken on virtually every aspect of human consciousness.

Available for RENTAL currently USA only – other countries will follow soon.

Here Osho speaks about George Gurdjieff, mystic and spiritual teacher 1866 -1949.

Gurdjieff’s last words to his disciples were, “Bravo, America.” I have heard you appreciated his insight about America, but right now the way American bureaucracy and politicians are behaving, it seems the words of Gurdjieff are no longer relevant.

“No, they are still relevant. A man like George Gurdjieff never becomes irrelevant. People of that category are eternally relevant. Politicians may be behaving in an ugly way the only way they know but America is not just the American politicians.”

Okay… The West has made many contributions, thousands of scientific inventions, immense progress in medicine, unbelievable discoveries in all the dimensions in life. But still, a single contribution of the East is far more valuable than all the contributions of the West.”

OSHO: Meditation – a Dancing Silence

Osho, a contemporary mystic has spoken on virtually every aspect of human consciousness. In these talks, the human mind is put under the microscope as never before, analyzed down to the smallest wrinkle.

Available for RENTAL currently USA only – other countries will follow

In this talk Osho responds to the question:

Why is it that, I only find myself meditating when I am down or confused? Why is it that I rarely meditate out of my joyousness?

“We have forgotten completely that to be joyous in fact is the basic condition of meditation. When you are joyous, that is the right moment to meditate. Then you can ride on the wave of joy into higher realms.”
